Hello, I would like to propose adding to this template an optional, named parameter whose value is a preposition like “to” or “thru” to be used as a substitute for the hyphen (actually an endash) separating the start & end dates. This template has no provision to deal with a date in a non-Gregorian calendar. Also, [[ISO 8601]] requires mutual agreement among those exchanging information before using years outside the range 1583–9999 CE.
