Forge is a Minecraft mod loader commonly used for mods that add content, such as blocks, entities, dimensions, and more, to the game. This page will show you how to install and use the Forge mod loader.
Installing Forge
Vanilla Launcher
Go to https://files.minecraftforge.net/net/minecraftforge/forge/ and select the Minecraft version you wish to use from the sidebar. Then, select "Installer" under either "Download Latest" or "Download Recommended". Click "Skip" on the page that appears, and click the JAR file that is downloaded.
In the Forge Installer, ensure that "Install client" is selected, then click "OK". A Forge instance should be created in the Minecraft launcher. If this does not occur, create a new instance and scroll through the version list until you see a version with "Forge" in it.
Prism Launcher
Installing Forge on Prism Launcher is very easy. First, right click and select "Create Instance". Then, simply select the Minecraft version you wish to use, and select "Forge" under "Mod Loader". Then click "OK", and you are done.
Using Modpacks
Prism Launcher
Click "New Instance", then select the website the modpack is hosted on (Curseforge, Modrinth, Technic), enter the modpack's name into the search bar, and then select and install it.
